Mold Removal Products - What Options Do You Have To Get Rid Of Mold?
The very first thing that you need to do if you are worried about mold is to make sure that you don't have it. Then you don't need to worry about getting rid of it. Basically Mold grows in damp places, so one of the keys to making sure you don't get mold is to make sure that you don't have damp places. There are some obvious things you can do like fix any leaking faucets or anything else that puts water into your house where you don't want it. But it sometimes isn't that easy and that's where mold prevention products come in. Did you know for example that there are mold preventing additives that you can use in your house paints if you live in a damp prone area? Or mold resistant shower curtains? Or that a dehumidifier can do wonders for mold prevention by reducing the moisture content in the air in damp prone places?
The best place that we have found to buy these sorts of mold prevention and mold removal products is The Allergy Buyers Club. WHAT MEASURES CAN YOU TAKE YOURSELF TO GET RID OF MOLD?As well as commercial mold removal kits there are some things you can do yourself. We've already mentioned removing the source of the damp. That goes without saying. If there is damp you will have mold, there's little point in removing the mold without removing the source of dampness. If you don't remove the dampness the mold will just return. Here's a few tips that you can use to help. 1. If excess humidity is a problem get a dehumidifier to keep the humidity below about 50%. High humidity contributes to mold growth, and reducing humidity will help dramatically. 2. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation, particularly during the more humid months. If it's humid then that is the time you're most at risk of mold growing. If it's a room with a shower in, for example, install an exhaust fan and use it when you have a shower. There are both electric and wind operated fans, both work well thought the wind operated fans are quieter. 3. If you're repainting it's possible to use mold inhibitors. Use these where possible, though of course it requires painting to use them. But don't forget to buy a mold inhibitor for your paint if you're painting. 4. Keep anything out of damp areas that will contribute to the damp. Don't carpet a bathroom, for example. And if the whole family leaves wet towels in the shower room after a shower then air the towels to dry them, don't leave damp towels in damp areas. They will also be much nicer to use. 5. Source a general purpose cleaner and mold killer to use in your regular cleaning. Of course using a mold removal kit will help removing the mold, but there is always a risk it will return. So clean regularly with a mold killer cleaning solution. So if you've got mold use a good mold removal product to get rid of it initially, then use your common sense. Avoid damp, and keep humidity down. And as well as reducing the chances of the mold returning you'll also find your house is much nicer to live in too.
